Having close ties with punk rock pioneers the Wipers(longtime Spurs drummer Sam Henry of the Wipers was taken by cancer in 2022) & sharing the stage with emerging country legends like Charley Crockett, Jenny Don’t & The Spurs sit at the intersection of honky-tonk and rock ‘n’ roll. Jenny Don’t wanted to escape her roots as a punk-rock artist to become more versatile and expand their listening audience. Over the course of 12-plus years and a dozen albums, they’ve done just that!
Produced by Collin Hegna (Brian Jonestown Massacre), Broken Hearted Blue weaves a musical tapestry that allows Jenny Don’t & The Spurs to showcase each member’s talents.
“We’re just fed up with mainstream music’s repetitive nature and the confines of genres. Each of us brings our own musical flavors to the table, emphasizing the importance of authenticity over conformity. Our music pulls from a variety of genres, which can be a bit tricky to define. But Collin really nailed it, capturing our blend of country, rock and roll, with that added touch of Western charm,” says Jenny Don’t.
