“When it came to actually writing songs, we just wrote whatever came out,” says Woods. “It was a kind of controlled intention,” Day adds. “We were intentional about what we were making. At the same time, you can be intentional, & sometimes, it doesn’t go as planned.”
That tension – between control & surrender, between fire & finesse – is where Chaparelle shines.
The group is completed by Beau Bedford (Texas Gentlemen, Modern Electric Sound) on guitar. While Chaparelle began as a 3 piece, Geoffrey Muller & Paul Grass are often found holding down the rhythm section.
