Valley Flower is a five-piece string band formed by friends who met while playing in the Texas bluegrass scene. Each member brings their own unique influences, drawn from their childhood homes in Virginia, North Carolina, and Minnesota – and here, in the Lone Star State.
The band’s self-titled debut EP, Valley Flower, showcases Appalachian roots blended with elements of modern country and folk. The sounds evoke the diverse regional backgrounds of the band members and the additional influences they’ve gathered along their travels.
“It’s been fun to blend that foundation with the traditional elements of bluegrass that feel like home, alongside the influences we’ve found in Austin,” says Rose, the band’s frontwoman. “I believe that mix is reflected in this EP.”
Valley Flower is quickly gaining attention both in their current home base, Austin, TX, and across the country. This growing appeal is set to soar as they continue to build a catalog of feel-good jams and heartening energy.
