Slow Parade’s newest release – Maybe You’ll Come Around, Again holds a steady tempo.. The hippy dipped country sounds brought to you by Slow Parade; aka Matthew Pendrick – give an “easy does it” vibe.. while the lyrical content is a bit heavier and worth your attention.
It’s a reminder that the daily grind doesn’t often change, leaving us exposed to the mundanity of everyday struggles – but when taken in with a different point of view; take those times and shake ‘em around, pour them over some ice and enjoy one drop at a time..
“Slow Parade was formed out of the need for a new extension. The goals were explicitly implied through means of analog conversion : follow sonic bliss until it exceeds the order of 38 db RMS above unity gain, translate the oft mud caked melodies back to silver vibrations of which they were born , catch the tail of the echo loop that does knows no decay”, says Pendrick.
Is Maybe You’ll Come Around, Again a country album? Sure. Is it an ode to Laurel Canyon? Seems likely. Does the album sound like it was recorded in the basement of a big pink house? Absolutely. But it wasn’t.. it was recorded at Standard Electric Recorder in Atlanta, GA.
The band does a great job of passing the torch and letting one another get their licks in – melodies & fills; while Slow Parade’s Matthew Pendrick takes the wheel on this sonic cruise. Hop in and buckle up.
