Tennessee alt-country band Lost Dog Street Band is gearing up to drop their latest album this Friday, April 26, via self-release (distributed by Thirty Tigers). Comprised of the husband-and-wife duo Benjamin Tod and Ashley Mae, Lost Dog Street Band’s journey has been marked by professional and personal challenges over the last half-decade.
Reflecting on their struggles, Ashley Mae shares, “Benjamin and I have weathered some tough times individually and together. Stepping back and realizing that we’ve endured and survived those challenges was a bright moment amidst the darkness.” Their new album, Survived, emerges as a testament to resilience and renewal.
The evolution of Lost Dog Street Band’s sound took shape during the recording of Tod’s solo album, Songs I Swore I’d Never Sing, where he opted for a live recording approach over traditional overdubbing. This energy & experience partly fueled the decision to reinvigorate Lost Dog Street Band.
The announcement of their return has brought joy to fans who thought they’d seen the last of the band. Survived showcases Tod’s exceptional talent and vitality, with tracks like “Lifetime Of Work” painting a poignant picture of his newfound sense of purpose.
